LIS 6511 Weeding Assignment

This group assignment showcases my ability to identify necessary library objects and analyze past, current, and rumored information about trends and item popularity.  Each item within the weeding list was identified from an existing collection and evaluated based upon outside availability, user ratings on book websites and blogs, and on related content such as corresponding series, movies and, and TV shows.

LIS 5120 Visit Report #1

Through an in-person visit, organization publications, and online resources I complied cultural heritage information about the Orlando Museum of Art.  For this report I identified and analyzed information artifacts from the museum and their impact on the Orlando community.

Students evaluate and select print and digital information resources and systems to meet needs of users.

 LIS 6511 Collection Development Policy and Action Plan

This collection development policy and action plan made for "Kemmet Public Library" utilizes previously acquired community data and statistics to evaluate the current library collection. This was accomplished through a subject field and format analysis to build a better physical and online collection through the acquisition of new materials and online applications and the weeding of older materials.

Students understand and use appropriate information technology for information services.

LIS 5526 Teaching Information Literacy Lesson Presentation.
This presentation shows a thorough understanding and use of technology to teach information literacy lessons.  This presentation utilizes presentation tools, screen-recording tools and narration tools to present library catalog information to distance learners.
