LIS 6603- Game-Based Learning for K12

This LibGuide was created in the fall semester of 2019 by myself and two other students as a collaborative assignment on a topic of choice.  The LibGuide format helps to introduce topics to students in an organized manner.  As a group, we collaborated through distance tools to curate and evaluate resources for inclusion in the LibGuide.

LIS 6603 LibGuide Presentation

While working with a group I compiled, narrated, and edited a PowerPoint presentation to familiarize students with the LibGuide: Game Based Learning for K-12.  This presentation was used to communicate different aspects of the topic and LibGuide-making process to ensure full understanding.

Goal I.c

Students participate in professional and community engagement activities in the field.

Co-curricular Activity: Winter Park Public Library Community Garden Initiative

While working as a Library Assistant, I organized a program to exchange herb and vegetable plants for library bookstore credit.  The plants made up a community garden outside the library in previously unused planters.  This project highlights community resilience and team work throughout a difficult period when many are face=ing homelessness, job loss, and hunger.

Goal I.d

Students demonstrate leadership skills and innovation in a diverse and global environment.
